
Lewis Choo Li Wei (b. 1990) is an emerging artist graduated with Diploma in Fine Arts majoring in sculpture. He was previously trained in mechatronics for 4 years.
In Lewis’ work, he includes hybrids of animals and humans to depict human evil and morality. He refers extensively to Chinese and Japanese folktales and cultures.
Currently, he is focusing on and honing his skills on wood carving and wood-cut printing.
He has exhibited in Vice Versa(2018) and Our eyes beyond the spectacle (2017)in Brother Joseph McNally gallery in LASALLE College of the Arts as well as “An edition does not need a 1000 prints”, 2018 in Praxis Space and Project Space. He is also involved in leading and co-creating a sculpture made of plastic for WWF in 2018. he co-created Cylinder of Light: ” Shining Bright, Her Memoir” for Passion Art Festival 2018. Recently in August he took part in, Nafa-Lasalle collaboration," Centering the margins" in Lim Hak Tai gallery 2018.
